The 2026 season is defined by extensive manufacturer changes across the grid. After a decade on Kawasaki machinery, AJN Steelstock FS-3 Racing switched to Bimota, following the Italian constructor's successful debut season in the Superbike World Championship in 2025. Nitrous Competitions Racing's switch to Ducati left their 2025 title-winning Yamaha stock available for purchase, which Sencat Racing acquired after two difficult seasons on Aprilia. TAS Racing also switched from Ducati to Yamaha and expanded to a two-bike lineup by acquiring the equipment of Mar-Train Racing, which left the sport after 20 years. Bathams Racing switched to Ducati after a single season on BMW.
IWR moved away from Honda machinery to serve as the support team for BMW factory rider Ilya Mikhalchik, making his debut entry in the championship. SM Racing entered as a new single-bike team run by Sean Meighan on Honda Fireblade.
Christian Iddon departed AJN Steelstock FS-3 Racing after one season to join Sencat Racing on their newly acquired Yamaha. His vacancy at FS-3 Racing — now the official factory-supported Bimota team — was filled by rookie Joe Talbot, stepping up from the British Supersport Championship.
Honda Racing UK fielded an entirely new lineup: Ryan Vickers returned from the Superbike World Championship and Jason O'Halloran returned after a stint in the Endurance World Championship. They replaced Tommy Bridewell, who departed after eighteen seasons in BSB to race for Superbike Advocates in the Superbike World Championship, and Andrew Irwin, who established his own team running a previous-generation Ducati acquired from PBM. MasterMac Honda also fielded an all-new pairing, signing Irish riders Eugene McManus and Rhys Irwin from the British Supersport class to replace John McPhee, who moved to Endurance World Championship racing, and Charlie Nesbitt, who joined TAG Racing alongside Fraser Rogers.
Danny Kent joined Cheshire Mouldings TAS Racing, riding the same Yamaha he had raced with the outgoing Mar-Train Racing team. Connor Thomson joined NP Racing full-time. Richard Kerr moved from the MLav Racing-backed BMW to SM Racing Honda. Scott Swann left IWR at the end of 2025 to establish his own team in the National Superstock Championship. Billy McConnell was left without a ride after his Look Forward Racing Honda team did not continue for 2026.
The 2026 calendar is largely unchanged from 2025. Snetterton and Knockhill swapped their calendar positions from 2025, now hosting rounds three and four respectively. The second Donington Park visit forms the second round of the Showdown, with the second Oulton Park meet moving into the regular season at round six.
The championship uses a tiered points system across the regular season and the Showdown finale. In the main season and opening two Showdown rounds, points are awarded to the top fifteen finishers, with a rider required to finish the race to earn any points. The season finale applies a separate points allocation to the same field of top fifteen finishers.
