Albon was born in Westminster, London, England, and raised in Suffolk. His father, Nigel Albon, is a British former racing driver. His mother, Kankamol "Minky" Albon, originates from Thailand. Albon started competitively racing karts in 2005 at the age of eight. He won the junior World Cup and European Championship in 2010. Albon was signed to the Red Bull Junior Team in 2008.
