Autodrom Most

Autodrom Most is a hard-surfaced permanent motorsport circuit located outside the city of Most in the northwest of the Czech Republic. The track measures 4.212 km in length and was constructed between 1978 and 1983. It serves as a venue for car, truck, and motorcycle racing as well as driver training programs, and has grown into a regular fixture on the international motorsport calendar in recent years.

The Most district had an established tradition of organizing car and motorcycle races before the permanent circuit was built, making the automotodrom the formalization of an existing local motorsport culture. Construction ran from 1978 to 1983, and the resulting facility offered a versatile hard surface suited to multiple racing disciplines. Beyond competition, the circuit provides training grounds for emergency service drivers, including fire engine, ambulance, and police personnel operating under crisis conditions.

For its first two decades of operation, Autodrom Most was primarily a regional venue. The Interserie endurance series visited consistently from 1983 to 2003, providing the circuit's most sustained international presence through much of its history. The Cup of Peace and Friendship brought additional events in 1984-1986 and 1988-1989.

From the 1990s into the 2000s, the circuit expanded its calendar to include the German Formula Three Championship, EuroBOSS Series, Formula Renault 2.0 Middle European Championship, and multiple Formula Renault Northern European Cup rounds. The ADAC GT Masters and ADAC TCR Germany both visited in 2018 and 2019, marking the circuit's growing status in German-organized motorsport.

A pivotal moment came in April 2021 when Autodrom Most was announced as a new venue for the Superbike World Championship under a five-year agreement. The WorldSBK Czech Round brought the circuit its highest-profile international motorcycle championship presence since opening. Supersport World Championship and Supersport 300 World Championship rounds were added alongside it from 2021 onward.

Also in August 2021, Autodrom Most was named as a replacement circuit for the World Touring Car Cup (WTCR) in 2021, and in November 2021 a permanent place on the 2022 WTCR calendar was announced. However, on 19 March 2022 the Czech round was cancelled due to a state of emergency and logistical issues, preventing the circuit from hosting the series that year.

The FIM Endurance World Championship visited for the 6 Hours of Most in 2021. The NASCAR Whelen Euro Series has regularly featured at the circuit, with the NASCAR GP Czechia becoming a fixture on the Euro Series calendar. The European Truck Racing Championship Czech Truck Prix is another major event, while the TCR Eastern Europe Touring Car Series and Formula 4 CEZ Championship are consistent annual visitors.

The present-day event schedule at Autodrom Most includes rounds of the Superbike World Championship, Supersport World Championship, and Sportbike World Championship in May; the IDM Superbike Championship in June; Formula Student Czech in July; and the FIA European Truck Racing Championship, NASCAR Euro Series, TCR Eastern Europe, Formula 4 CEZ, and GT Cup Series in August. The Histo-Cup Austria Season Opening is held at Most each April.

Autodrom Most has transformed from a regional facility primarily known to Central European club racers into a genuine international venue hosting world championship rounds across multiple disciplines. Its inclusion in the Superbike World Championship under a multi-year deal and its recurring presence on the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series and truck racing calendars reflect a sustained investment in the circuit's capacity and infrastructure. The 4.212 km layout has proven adaptable across bikes, cars, trucks, and student engineering competition, making it one of the most versatile tracks in the Czech Republic.
