Born and raised in São Paulo, Collet began his motorsport career in karting at the age of seven, claiming multiple titles in Brazil before moving to Europe. He was signed by the Birel ART team in 2016 and later by Nicolas Todt's All Road Management scheme.
Collet made his single-seater debut in the 2017–18 Formula 4 UAE Championship with Silberpfeil Energy Dubai. He impressed, finishing on the podium in six of seven races he contested, including a win at the Yas Marina Circuit, and ultimately finishing sixth in the standings with 124 points.
In 2018, racing under the number 23, Collet competed in the French F4 Championship. He secured seven wins, including one at the Pau Grand Prix, and led the standings after Magny Cours. Collet was the only Brazilian on the grid that year. He had the opportunity to win the championship a round early at Jerez. He clinched the championship with 303.5 points, 66.5 ahead of Ugo de Wilde.
Following his success in French F4, Collet moved to the Formula Renault Eurocup with R-ace GP in 2019. He achieved five podiums, with a best result of second place at Spa-Francorchamps, finishing fifth in the championship with 207 points. He remained with R-ace GP for the 2020 season, earning three podiums in the first three races, including his first Eurocup victory at Imola. In 2020, Collet also competed in the Toyota Racing Series for MTEC Motorsport, securing one win at Teretonga Park, finishing seventh overall with 219 points.
Collet transitioned to the FIA Formula 3 Championship in 2021, driving for MP Motorsport. He secured two podiums, finishing ninth in the championship with 93 points as the second-highest placed rookie. He continued with MP Motorsport in 2022, achieving two wins and five podiums, ending the year eighth in the standings with 88 points.
For his third season in Formula 3 in 2023, Collet switched to Van Amersfoort Racing, earning one win and three podiums, finishing ninth overall with 73 points. He won a race in Spa-Francorchamps after starting from pole position.
In October 2023, Collet participated in the Indy NXT's Chris Griffis Memorial Test with HMD Motorsports, leading to a full-time drive with the team for the 2024 season. He achieved a maiden podium at Indianapolis, followed by a second-place finish in Detroit and a double runner-up result at Laguna Seca. He secured his first win in Indy NXT at Mid-Ohio, finishing third in the championship standings with one win and six podiums. Collet continued with HMD Motorsports for the 2025 season, earning three wins, three poles, and nine podiums, ultimately finishing as the runner-up.
Collet was signed by the Renault Sport Academy in 2019, later rebranded as the Alpine Academy in 2021. In October 2025, he tested an IndyCar car for A. J. Foyt Racing.
In January 2026, it was announced that Collet would race for A. J. Foyt Racing in the 2026 IndyCar Series season, driving the No. 4 car.
Collet also made a one-off appearance in Formula E, deputising for the unwell Oliver Rowland at the 2024 Portland ePrix, finishing eighteenth and sixteenth in the two races. He previously served as the reserve and simulator driver for the Nissan Formula E Team in 2024, participating in the rookie free practice session at the Misano ePrix and the Rookie Test in Berlin. He opted not to continue in the reserve role for 2025, preferring to solely focus on his Indy NXT campaign.
Collet cites three-time Formula One champion Ayrton Senna as his racing hero and has Italian and French ancestry.
