Bell began his racing career in micro sprints at I-44 Riverside Speedway in the early 2000s. In 2010, he earned the Lucas Oil ASCS2 Championship. On May 7, 2014, he won his first career World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series race at Jacksonville Speedway.
In 2013, Bell joined Keith Kunz Motorsports in USAC racing, replacing Kyle Larson, and later that year joined CH Motorsports’ sprint car racing program. He concluded 2013 as the USAC National Midget Champion. In 2015, Bell made two NASCAR K&N Pro Series West starts for Bill McAnally Racing, finishing 15th at Irwindale Speedway and second at Iowa Speedway. He made his Camping World Truck Series debut for Kyle Busch Motorsports at Iowa, finishing fifth. Bell secured his first career Truck Series win in the Mudsummer Classic at Eldora Speedway in 2015, holding off Bobby Pierce on a green–white–checker finish.
In 2017, Bell won the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series championship with five wins, fifteen top-fives, and 21 top-tens. He also won his first Chili Bowl Nationals, becoming the first Oklahoman to win the event since Andy Hillenburg in 1994. In 2018, Bell moved to the Xfinity Series full-time with Joe Gibbs Racing, winning six races, including three consecutive races at Kentucky, New Hampshire, and Iowa. He finished fourth in the Xfinity Series points standings. Bell continued in the Xfinity Series in 2019, winning four races and finishing third in the final points standings.
During the 2016 Truck Series race at Daytona, Brandon Brown pushed Timothy Peters into Bell on the final lap, causing Bell’s truck to spin, grip the track, go on two wheels, and barrel-roll multiple times. The following week at Atlanta Motor Speedway, Bell was leading when he blew a tire and crashed into the wall. At Phoenix in 2023, Bell suffered a 36th-place DNF after his right-front brake exploded. In 2024, at Martinsville during the playoffs, Bell ran against the outside wall in a move similar to Ross Chastain’s “Hail Melon,” resulting in a penalty and his elimination from the playoffs.
Bell has continued to compete in dirt track racing throughout his career, including in the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series. In 2019, he co-founded CB Industries with Chad Boat, fielding a World of Outlaws sprint car team. During 2023 and most of 2024, Joe Gibbs Racing restricted Bell from dirt racing due to injury concerns, but the ban was lifted in late 2024. He marked his return with a win at the Tulsa Shootout in the Non-Wing Outlaw division. He also competed in the ARCA Racing Series and CARS Late Model Stock Car Tour early in his career.
