Circuit Ricardo Tormo

section:track
The Circuit Ricardo Tormo, also known as Circuit de Valencia, is a 4.005 km permanent motorsport facility located in Cheste, within the Valencian Community of Spain. Built in 1999, it has a spectator capacity of 165,000 and a main straight of 0.876 km.

The circuit is named after Ricardo Tormo (1952–1998), a Spanish two-time world champion Grand Prix motorcycle racer who died of leukemia in 1998, the year before the track opened.

The primary configuration measures 4.005 km. For the 2020–21 Formula E World Championship, the circuit was adapted into a bespoke layout that included a temporary chicane on the start/finish straight; in this configuration the course turned right immediately after the exit of Turn 8.

The circuit is the primary host of the MotoGP Valencian Community Grand Prix, held each November. It has featured in every MotoGP video game since the track's debut in 1999 and in the SBK games from 2006 to 2013. The circuit also hosts the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup, the FIM Moto3 Junior World Championship, and the FIM Moto2 European Championship.

The circuit has served as Formula E's pre-season testing venue since the 2017–18 season, having moved from Donington Park. On 28 January 2021, it was announced the circuit would host the Valencia ePrix as the 5th and 6th rounds of the 2020–21 Formula E World Championship on 24 April 2021, replacing the cancelled Paris ePrix due to the COVID-19 crisis. This was the first time an ePrix was held on a permanent race circuit. In October 2024, regional flooding forced the relocation of Formula E pre-season testing to the Circuito del Jarama near Madrid on 5–8 November 2024.

The FIA GT Championship held races at the circuit in 2000 and 2004. The World Touring Car Championship used the venue from 2005 to 2012 under the event name FIA WTCC Race of Spain. The European Le Mans Series ran the 1000 km Valencia in 2007. The DTM visited from 2010 to 2012. The GT World Challenge Europe has held rounds there in 2021–2023 and 2025.

The GP2 Series held rounds at the circuit in 2006 and 2007. The GP3 Series (now FIA Formula 3 Championship) used it as a pre-season test venue until 2017 and held a one-off event in 2013. The NASCAR Euro Series has held its season-opening round at the circuit since 2014, except 2020. The circuit hosted the third edition of the FIA Motorsport Games in October 2024.

Anthony Davidson holds the unofficial lap record, set in 2006 while testing a Honda RA106, with a time of 1:08.540.

The circuit has been recreated in Assetto Corsa Competizione (added in 2023), Gran Turismo PSP, Tourist Trophy, Alfa Romeo Racing Italiano, GTR Evolution, and rFactor.
