Pasquini began his music career in Italy, initially forming the band Aleph. He adopted the stage name Dave Rodgers and became one of the key contributing producers and performers to the Super Eurobeat series, a long-running compilation franchise that became the dominant format for Eurobeat music internationally. Over the course of his career he recorded under numerous aliases, including Derek Simon, Robert Stone, Patrick Hoolley, Mario Ross, Red Skins, RCS, the Big Brother, and Thomas & Schubert, in addition to his primary Dave Rodgers identity.
Rodgers became widely recognized outside Eurobeat's core audience through the use of his music in Initial D, a Japanese manga and anime series about mountain-pass street racing. His track "Déjà Vu" became particularly associated with the franchise and contributed significantly to Eurobeat's popularity among audiences who encountered it through the anime. Initial D's use of high-tempo Eurobeat across its racing sequences — running from 1998 to 2014 — created an enduring cultural link between the genre and touge driving culture.
Rodgers co-ran A-Beat C Productions and Rodgers Studio as the primary infrastructure for his label and recording work. In 2006 he released the album Blow Your Mind under his own name, incorporating rock elements alongside his electronic production style. In 2011 he stepped back, leaving studio operations in the hands of Evelin Malferrari, who established a new Eurobeat label called Sun Fire Records. Rodgers assisted Malferrari during this period by contributing to songwriting.
Following a legal dispute with Malferrari, conducted under her Futura Prince alias, Rodgers founded his own independent label, Dave Rodgers Music, in 2019. Under the new label he resumed full production activity, releasing new catalogue and collaborating with artists including Kaioh, Annerley, Nuage, Domino, Powerful T, Norma Sheffield, Ace Warriors, Mickey B, Go Go Girls, Lou Grant, and Susan Bell. Kaioh is the stage name of his son Federico, who was raised by Rodgers' first wife Alessandra Mirka Gatti following their divorce.
Pasquini was married twice. His first marriage was to Eurobeat artist Alessandra Mirka Gatti, with whom he has a son, Federico. His second marriage was to Evelin Malferrari, from whom he was divorced in 2020.
Dave Rodgers occupies a foundational position in the history of Eurobeat as both a producer and performer. His work helped define the sonic template of Super Eurobeat across multiple decades, and his association with Initial D gave the genre a sustained cultural footprint far beyond the dedicated fanbase it had developed through the Super Eurobeat compilation series.
