eNASCAR

eNASCAR is the official esports arm of NASCAR, launched in 2018 to manage and sanction competitive auto-racing simulations. The organization primarily utilizes the iRacing platform on PC, though it has historically employed consoles such as Xbox and PlayStation for specific competitions. As of 2022, the body officially sanctions three active leagues and oversees a developmental ladder known as the Road to Pro Series.

The foundation of NASCAR's involvement in simulation racing predates the formal eNASCAR brand. In 2010, a partnership with iRacing led to the creation of the Coca-Cola iRacing Series. The inaugural event took place on February 9, 2010, establishing a long-term framework for competitive digital stock car racing.

The reach of the organization expanded significantly during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. With physical racing delayed, the eNASCAR iRacing Pro Invitational Series was established for past and present professional drivers. The debut event at a virtual Homestead–Miami Speedway on March 22, 2020, drew 903,000 viewers, setting a television rating record for esports. This record was broken one week later when the virtual race at Texas Motor Speedway attracted over 1.3 million viewers.

The premier level of eNASCAR competition features 40 racers competing in Cup-style cars. The regular season consists of 14 rounds and one exhibition, beginning annually in mid-February at Daytona International Speedway and concluding in August.

The series utilizes the current Cup Series points format to determine the top ten drivers who qualify for the playoffs. Upon entering the playoffs, qualifying drivers have their points reset to 2,000, supplemented by three bonus points for every win achieved during the regular season. The playoff structure progresses through three races where winners automatically advance, alongside the highest-ranking non-winners, until four finalists remain. The championship is decided in a final round, where the highest finisher among the four finalists is crowned the winner. The 2023 champion of the series is Steven Wilson.

Established in 2022 through a partnership with NACE Starleague, this series is restricted to full-time college students. Competitors use both Truck Series and Xfinity Series chassis on the iRacing platform. The format relies on a two-week time-trial system to seed participants into three tiers: the A Main (ranks 1–40), B Main (ranks 41–80), and C Main (ranks 81–120).

Participation is limited to one entry per school. As of 2025, the series features a $60,000 total prize pool dedicated to scholarships. Winners of weekly rounds receive $1,000, while the championship race winner receives $10,000.

Announced in June 2021, the International Series provides a sanctioned platform for non-American racers using Xfinity Series vehicles. Eligibility is extended to members of the NASCAR Pinty’s Series in Canada, the NASCAR Mexico Series, the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series in Europe, and the 2022 Drive for Diversity class. The schedule expanded from three courses in its inaugural year to five races in 2022.

The Road to Pro Series serves as the developmental pipeline for armature racers seeking to reach the Coca-Cola iRacing Series. The system is divided into two distinct tiers:

Qualifying Series: The entry point for aspiring competitors.

Contender Series: A secondary level where promoted drivers from the Qualifying Series compete for advancement into the premier ranks.

Following its record-breaking debut in 2020, the series was renewed for a ten-race schedule in 2021. This iteration featured experimental content, including a dirt track version of Bristol Motor Speedway and a fictitious Chicago Street Course. The series was indefinitely discontinued after completing five races of the 2021 season.

Operating from 2019 to 2020, this league utilized the NASCAR Heat game on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles. It featured 28 gamers competing across 14 events. The league was dissolved following the release of the title NASCAR 21: Ignition.
