Bastard began racing competitively at the age of 13, having previously driven in rental karts from the age of eight. He achieved a number of podiums in the Center-Bourgogne Trophy during his debut year, and followed this up by finishing as runner-up in the same series the following season. He continued to race in various national championships until the end of 2017.
In 2018, Bastard stepped up to car racing, teaming up with Pierre-André Nicolas at FOXO in the Porsche Club Motorsport France championship, driving a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4. The pair secured four podiums, finishing second in the standings. He then moved to the French GT4 Cup in 2019, joining Schatz Lestienne Racing. After early retirements, he and Sylvain Caroff were moved to the Am category, where they took five class podiums, finishing fourth in the drivers’ championship.
2020 saw Bastard move to ANS Motorsport for another attempt at the French GT4 Cup, again partnering with Caroff in a Ginetta G55 GT4. They secured victories at Nogaro and Magny-Cours, leading the standings before ultimately finishing third overall. In 2021, Bastard progressed to the Silver category with TGR CMR alongside Antoine Potty, taking seven podiums but finishing fourth in the championship.
The 2022 season proved to be Bastard’s most successful to date. Partnering with Roee Meyuhas at Saintéloc Racing, he competed in both the GT4 European Series and the French GT4 Cup, driving an Audi R8 LMS GT4 Evo. The pair dominated the French GT4 Cup, winning four races and securing the title with a round to spare. Simultaneously, they narrowly won the GT4 European Series, with a race-winning overtake at Spa-Francorchamps and a dominant drive at Hockenheim.
At the end of 2022, Bastard made his GT3 debut, joining Christopher Haase and Patric Niederhauser at Saintéloc for the Gulf 12 Hours with an Audi R8 LMS Evo II. The team secured a third-place finish, which Bastard described as “unbelievable”.
Bastard remained with Saintéloc in 2023, partnering Patric Niederhauser in the GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup and competing in the Silver Cup of the Endurance Cup alongside Grégoire Demoustier and Paul Evrard. The Endurance Cup trio finished fourth in the standings, achieving a single class podium at the 24 Hours of Spa. Bastard and Niederhauser took one podium in the Sprint Cup, finishing tenth in the standings.
For the 2024 season, Bastard moved to D'station Racing, competing in the World Endurance Championship driving an Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3 Evo. He contributed to a podium finish at the opening round in Qatar, where he, Marco Sørensen and Clément Mateu finished third.
Bastard has competed in the French GT4 Cup, GT4 European Series, GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup and Sprint Cup, and the FIA World Endurance Championship. Complete results for these series are available elsewhere.
