Zetterström began racing at the age of eight in Junior Dragster. At sixteen she earned her Super Comp Dragster license and stepped into full-size competition. In 2017 she moved to two wheels, competing in the Super Street Bike class — the European equivalent of the American Pro Street Bike category — on a Suzuki Hayabusa.
Her breakthrough came in 2019 when she reached multiple final rounds and claimed her first event victory, becoming the first woman ever to win in the Scandinavian Super Street Bike class. She and her team captured the EDRS PRO Nordic Championship that season, making her the youngest rider in history to win a Super Street Bike championship. The achievement earned her the VP Racing Fuels Special Award for the competitor with the most notable accomplishments of the year.
In 2020 Zetterström made history again, becoming the first woman to record a six-second run on a no-wheelie-bar motorcycle. She set a new track record with a 6.985-second pass and improved it to 6.885 seconds at Kauhava — the second quickest run in Super Street Bike history at the time, placing her as part of only the second team ever to break into the 6.8-second zone. Her 2020 campaign also brought the Finnish Championship title. Her career-best Super Street Bike speed was 215.55 mph, also set at Kauhava in 2020.
Zetterström's goal had always been Top Fuel. She partnered with Rune Fjeld and RF Motorsport to pursue her FIA Top Fuel license, beginning the licensing process at Bug Jam in 2021. Her final required pass was 3.862 seconds — recorded as the quickest FIA Top Fuel licensing pass ever.
The momentum continued into 2022. At the first FIA event of the season, Zetterström and RF Motorsport posted a 3.782-second run, making them the first team in European history to break into the 3.7-second zone. She claimed her first FIA Top Fuel event victory shortly after at Tierp Arena. In December 2022 she was named to Drag Illustrated's "30 Under 30" list of the most influential young people in drag racing worldwide.
The 2023 season was the definitive proof of her ability at the top level. At the opening FIA Championship event at Santa Pod, Zetterström reset her own European records with a 3.773-second pass at 321 mph, taking both elapsed-time and speed records while winning the event. The season went on to be dominant — multiple Top Fuel victories, multiple No. 1 qualifier positions, and only one round loss all year. She and RF Motorsport were crowned 2023 FIA European Top Fuel Champions, having won all three championship events.
Following her European title, Zetterström announced a move to the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series with JCM Racing, joining eight events on the national schedule for the 2024 season. She competed alongside teammate Tony Schumacher under the tuning direction of Jon Schaffer. In her official NHRA debut she advanced to the semi-final, defeating several established competitors. At the close of the 2024 season she received the NHRA New Talent of the Year award, voted on by the fans.
In 2025, Zetterström and teammate Alexis DeJoria formed the first all-female nitro team in motorsport history. She competed in twelve of the twenty NHRA races that season and reached her first NHRA final round at St. Louis, where she faced two-time world champion Doug Kalitta. Her career-best figures stand at an elapsed time of 3.72 seconds and a top speed of 334.32 mph.
Zetterström serves as a Dodge European Brand Ambassador and is based in Brownsburg, Indiana.
