Hawkins made her professional motorsport debut at Silverstone in British Formula Ford, finishing inside the top ten on both occasions. The performance earned her a place with Falcon Motorsport for the 2015 MSA Formula Championship, where she joined midway through the season and finished 23rd overall. She made a brief foray into the MRF Challenge later that year, lining up for the Bahrain round and finishing 15th in both races.
In 2016 Hawkins moved into single-make racing with the Volkswagen Racing Cup. The following year she switched to the Mini Challenge, scoring six class wins and finishing runner-up to Matt Hammond in the Pro division. She returned to the VW Cup in 2018 while simultaneously developing her stunt driving career, spending much of that year working on Fast and Furious Live.
Hawkins joined the inaugural W Series season in 2019, finishing 11th in the championship after collecting two points finishes in the final two rounds. The 2020 W Series season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and she instead made a one-off appearance in the British Touring Car Championship at Snetterton for Power Maxed Racing, qualifying 22nd.
She returned to W Series for the 2021 season and again placed 11th in the standings, recording four points finishes including a fifth-place result at Zandvoort. A single-round BTCC return at Snetterton that year saw her best finish of 21st across three races as she replaced Andy Neate.
On 19 May 2021, Aston Martin announced Hawkins as their official driver ambassador, a role that deepened significantly over subsequent years. In September 2023 she tested the Aston Martin AMR21 at the Hungaroring over 26 laps, becoming the first woman to test a Formula One car since Tatiana Calderón drove for Sauber in 2018. Aston Martin later extended her remit to include serving as head of racing for F1 Academy, working alongside the team's F1 Academy representative Tina Hausmann.
From 2024 Hawkins turned her focus to GT3 competition. She joined Beechdean Motorsport to race the new Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3 in the 2024 British GT Championship, sharing the car with team owner Andrew Howard. Her campaign produced a best result of seventh in the opening race at Donington Park.
For 2025 Hawkins progressed to European GT3 racing, entering the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup with Comtoyou Racing, driving the No. 270 Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3 Evo.
Alongside her circuit career, Hawkins has established a reputation as a stunt driver. Her credits include the James Bond film No Time to Die, released in 2021. She also holds the record for the fastest 0–100 mph run on a lawnmower.
Hawkins is openly gay and was previously in a relationship with Abbie Eaton, also a British racing driver. She is from East Hampshire and throughout her career has balanced the roles of professional racer, stunt driver, and motorsport ambassador.
