Andrey Olegovich Karginov (born 23 February 1976) is a Russian rally raid driver who competes in the truck category for the Kamaz Master team. He is best known for winning the Dakar Rally in 2014 and 2020, cementing his reputation as one of the most accomplished heavy-vehicle pilots in cross-country rallying.

Karginov was born in Russia and came up through the Kamaz Master programme, one of the dominant forces in Dakar truck racing. He initially gained experience as a mechanic, serving in that capacity for Ilgizar Mardeev and Vladimir Chagin before transitioning to a full driving role. His grounding in the mechanical side of the sport gave him a thorough understanding of the Kamaz trucks that would later carry him to the top of the podium.

Karginov began competing in Russian cross-country championship events in the early 2000s, winning the Russian Championship in 2011 and taking victories at national rallies including Kagan's Gold in 2011 and 2013. His international profile grew steadily as he accumulated results across the Silk Way Rally, the Africa Eco Race, and the Dakar Rally itself.

At the 2014 Dakar Rally, Karginov claimed his first Dakar title in the truck category, driving for Kamaz Master alongside his co-driver and mechanic. The victory was a major milestone in his career and established him as a front-runner in the discipline. He followed this with further international success, winning the Africa Eco Race in 2017 and the Silk Way Rally in 2018.

His second Dakar win came in 2020, reinforcing his standing in truck rally raid. The 2020 edition was particularly significant as it marked Dakar's first running in Saudi Arabia, having previously been held in Africa and South America. Karginov and his crew navigated the unfamiliar terrain to take the truck category title once again.

At the 2019 Dakar Rally, Karginov's team โ€” crewed with Mokeev and Leonov โ€” ran as one of the main contenders and was positioned to challenge for the lead. However, after a collision during the fifth stage, the crew was disqualified for failing to stop and attend to an injured spectator. The incident demonstrated the strict safety and sporting conduct rules that govern Dakar competition and ended what had been a strong overall campaign. The truck category title that year went to Eduard Nikolaev.

Karginov's two Dakar victories place him among the elite of truck rally raid. He has received multiple civic and industrial honours from Tatarstan and the Russian government, including a Medal of the Order of Merit for the Motherland (II Degree) in 2010, the Order of Friendship in 2015, and the title of Merited Machinist of Tatarstan in 2015. He also holds honorary diplomas from Kamaz and expressions of gratitude from the President of Tatarstan following his 2014 Dakar win.

His career exemplifies the Kamaz Master team's systematic approach to developing drivers through the ranks, beginning as mechanics and technicians before progressing to competitive driving roles โ€” a pathway that has produced multiple Dakar champions.
