Kyle Ryde

Ryde grew up in Swanwick, Derbyshire until 2002, then moved to nearby Jacksdale, Nottinghamshire, where he remains based. He entered motorcycle competition at a young age, contesting the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup in 2011 and 2012. In 2011 he became the youngest ever British 125cc Champion by winning the British 125 Championship. He secured a second domestic title in 2014, winning the British National Superstock 600 Championship.

In 2015, Ryde stepped up to the British Supersport Championship with Pacedayz European Trackdays on a Yamaha YZF-R6, finishing runner-up in the championship. That season he also made a wildcard appearance in the Supersport World Championship at Donington Park, where he qualified second on the front row and was classified third in the race.

For 2016, Ryde signed with an Italian team to contest the Supersport World Championship full-time. The team unexpectedly withdrew from competition without explanation after the first five events, though Ryde re-entered later in the year with Schmidt Racing, a Hungarian outfit, riding both an MV Agusta F3 675 and a Kawasaki ZX-6R alongside former world champion Nicolás Terol.

In 2017, Ryde remained in the Supersport World Championship as teammate to reigning champion Kenan Sofuoğlu but parted ways with the team in early October before the season concluded, citing poor race performances.

Ryde made his British Superbike debut in the final three rounds of 2017 at Brands Hatch, riding Billy McConnell's machine while McConnell recovered from injury. He signed with CF Motorsports for 2018 to compete in British Superbikes on a Yamaha YZF-R1, but withdrew from national circuit racing in late June via social media, citing unspecified reasons.

He returned to action on 21-22 July 2018 at Brands Hatch in the British GP2 category within the British Supersport National Championship, winning his category and the overall Supersport race.

Ryde joined the Buildbase Suzuki-backed Hawk Racing team for 2020, having impressed during a trial at the final two rounds of 2019. He recorded his first two British Superbike race wins at the Silverstone round in 2020. For 2021 he moved to Rich Energy OMG Racing to ride the new BMW M1000RR alongside Bradley Ray, scoring 118 points and finishing fifteenth overall. When OMG Racing switched to Yamaha machinery for 2022, Ryde and Ray continued as the team's riders — the first time Ryde had returned to the same team and machinery across consecutive seasons.

Ryde contested the 2024 British Superbike Championship with OMG GRILLA Yamaha Racing. The season culminated in one of the most dramatic title finales in the series' history: Ryde beat defending champion Tommy Bridewell by a single point, the margin settled on the last corner of the final lap of the season. The result gave OMG Racing their second championship.

In 2025, Ryde successfully defended the title against a sustained challenge from Bradley Ray, finishing 20 points ahead after the eleventh round at Brands Hatch to secure back-to-back British Superbike Championships. As of the 2025 season, his British Superbike record stood at 24 race wins, 18 pole positions, 16 fastest laps, and 61 podiums. Ryde is contracted to remain at OMG Racing through at least the end of the 2027 season.
