Savadori finished runner-up in the 2007 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup, demonstrating early promise against a strong international junior field. The following year, 2008, he won both the Italian 125GP championship and the European 125cc Championship. He simultaneously made his World Championship debut in the 125cc class, racing in that category for the next two seasons before making a class change.
In 2011 Savadori moved to the FIM Superstock 1000 Cup, a category he would contest at the top level for five seasons. After finishing 15th in his debut year on a Kawasaki ZX-10R, he progressed steadily, placing fifth in 2012 on a Ducati 1098R, fifth again in 2013 on a Kawasaki, and second in 2014 — again on the Kawasaki — before claiming the championship title in 2015 with Aprilia RSV4 machinery.
From 2016 to 2018 Savadori competed in the Superbike World Championship with Aprilia, recording a best finish of tenth place across three seasons. In 2019 he switched to the electric MotoE World Cup with Gresini Racing, racing an Energica Ego Corsa. He then returned to Italian domestic competition in 2020 and won the CIV Superbike championship.
Savadori made his MotoGP class debut as a substitute for the suspended Andrea Iannone, replacing Bradley Smith in the Aprilia seat. For the 2021 season he was elevated to full-time MotoGP status with Aprilia Racing, partnering Aleix Espargaró — making him part of the manufacturer's first full-works campaign in the premier class for many years.
His test rider role has since provided the basis for recurring MotoGP appearances as a wildcard or replacement entry. In the 2025 season, Savadori was called upon multiple times to substitute for reigning world champion Jorge Martín, who had injured his left wrist during pre-season training and was subsequently hurt again in an accident at the Qatar Grand Prix. Savadori covered for Martín across the Thailand, Argentine, and Americas rounds, then returned to the seat from the Spanish Grand Prix onwards. A wet race at Le Mans in 2025 produced his best result in a MotoGP feature race, a ninth-place finish that broke his previous personal record in the class.
Savadori's career traces an unconventional path through motorcycle racing: national champion, multi-year Superstock title holder, Superbike regular, MotoE competitor, and now a recurring presence in MotoGP's premier class in a support capacity that has required him to cover for one of the sport's highest-profile riders. His 2015 Superstock title and 2020 CIV Superbike championship stand as the formal peak results of his career, while his MotoGP substitute appearances have given him experience on the sport's biggest stage across several different championship contexts.
