Matteo Chinosi (born 14 February 1989, Pavia, Italy) is an Italian former racing driver who competed in karting, Formula Renault, and Formula Three between 2005 and 2009. He is best known for winning two races in the ATS Formel 3 Cup (German Formula Three) with Ombra Racing in 2008 and for a subsequent move to the Formula 3 Euro Series with Prema Powerteam.

Chinosi started kart racing at the age of nine. In 2002 he had a strong season in his age class, winning the International Winter Cup at Lonato in Brescia, the Champions Cup at Ottobiano in Pavia, and the Torneo Industrie at San Pancrazio in Parma. He also finished third in the Italian Open Masters final standings in the ICA-J class that year.

Chinosi made his single-seater debut in 2005 with Prema Powerteam in the Italian Formula Renault 2.0 Championship, scoring 6 points across 17 races and finishing 25th in the standings.

In 2006 he moved to RP Motorsport and competed in both the Formula Renault 2.0 Italy and the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0. In the Italian series he finished ninth in the standings after scoring points in nine of fifteen races, including a podium at the opening round at Hockenheim. He also appeared as a guest driver at Misano in the Eurocup, where guest drivers are ineligible for championship points.

In 2007 Chinosi joined Ombra Racing in the ATS Formel 3 Cup, the German Formula Three Championship. He finished sixth overall, taking four podium finishes across eighteen races. He also made a single guest appearance at Monza in the British Formula Three Championship that season.

Chinosi remained with Ombra Racing for the 2008 ATS Formel 3 Cup and improved to fifth in the standings. He scored two outright race victories, at Hockenheim and at the Nurburgring, from sixteen races with seven podiums in total. He appeared again as a guest at the Monza British Formula Three round, where he qualified on pole position โ€” though guest drivers were again ineligible for championship points.

For 2009 Chinosi stepped up to the Formula 3 Euro Series, the most competitive Formula Three championship in Europe, with Prema Powerteam. He contested eight races before leaving the series after the Zandvoort round, finishing 23rd in the standings without scoring points. During the same season he competed in the 2009 Masters of Formula 3 at Zandvoort as a standalone invitation race, finishing eleventh.
