Motopark's early identity was built around Formula Renault 2.0 competition. In 2004 the team took the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 Teams' Championship while American driver Scott Speed won the Drivers' title with eight victories. In 2006, Portuguese driver Filipe Albuquerque won the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 Drivers' title for the team with four wins.
In the Formula Renault 2.0 Northern European Cup — a series that ran from 2006 — Motopark Academy achieved an extraordinary clean sweep, winning every one of the first four Drivers' Championships: Filipe Albuquerque in 2006, Frank Kechele in 2007, Valtteri Bottas in 2008, and António Félix da Costa in 2009. Bottas and da Costa would both later compete in Formula One. Motopark also claimed the Northern European Cup Teams' Championship in 2007, 2008, and 2009.
The team entered the Formula 3 Euro Series in 2009 and maintained a presence in European Formula Three for several seasons thereafter. In 2018 Motopark fielded a large lineup for the final season of the FIA Formula 3 European Championship, with drivers including Jonathan Aberdein, Sebastián Fernández, Fabio Scherer, Marino Sato, Dan Ticktum, and Jüri Vips.
In 2019, Motopark switched to the Euroformula Open Championship following the cancellation of the planned Formula European Masters series. The team's intended FEM lineup, which had included Red Bull juniors Yuki Tsunoda and Liam Lawson, was retained for Euroformula Open along with Julian Hanses in a fourth car.
In 2013, Motopark team principal Timo Rumpfkeil and former Russian racing driver and manager Igor Mazepa established Russian Time to contest the GP2 Series. The team replaced iSport International, which had withdrawn from the series. Russian Time won its first GP2 race in only its fourth round when Sam Bird took victory in the Bahrain sprint race, and later won again at Monaco. The partnership between Motopark and Russian Time ended in February 2014 following the death of Mazepa from complications related to thrombosis.
In 2018 Motopark collaborated with Japanese outfit B-Max Racing for entries in Super Formula and Japanese Formula Three, fielding Lucas Auer and Harrison Newey in Super Formula alongside Sacha Fenestraz, Enaam Ahmed, and others in Formula Three. The team's Japanese involvement reflected its broadening international footprint in the late 2010s. From 2012 to 2014, Motopark raced under the Lotus moniker, and through 2013 also operated the Russian Time GP2 and planned GP3 entries before that partnership dissolved.
Team Motopark's most significant contribution to junior motorsport has been the development of drivers who went on to major careers in Formula One and other championships, including Valtteri Bottas and António Félix da Costa. The team's four consecutive Formula Renault 2.0 Northern European Cup titles between 2006 and 2009 stand as its most concentrated run of championship success, and its willingness to operate across multiple countries and series simultaneously demonstrated a breadth of reach unusual among junior teams.
