Grove Racing, which has competed under the Penrite Racing banner in the Supercars Championship, is an Australian motor racing team that entered the series' top tier in 2022 after acquiring the Kelly Racing program. Based around the Grove family's motorsport ambitions, the team fields two Ford Mustang S650s in the Supercars Championship and has steadily grown from a GT-focused privateer outfit to a front-running Supercars operation.

Grove Racing was founded in 2011 by businessman Stephen Grove with a focus on Porsche competition. After entering the Porsche Sprint Challenge Australia, the team competed in the Porsche Carrera Cup Australia Championship from 2012, with Stephen himself as driver in the elite class. By 2014 the team had secured the first of five Bathurst 12 Hour class victories, building a reputation in endurance GT competition before expanding into the Supercars ladder.

Stephen's son Brenton joined the team for the Super2 Series in 2018, recruiting two-time Le Mans winner Earl Bamber as co-driver for the Bathurst 250 endurance race that season. Brenton stepped away from Super2 the following year to drive for Triple Eight Race Engineering's development program, while Matthew Payne entered the Super2 Series for the final two rounds of 2021 in a Nissan Altima.

In January 2021, the Grove Group purchased 50 percent of Kelly Racing, which was rebranded Kelly Grove Racing for the 2021 Supercars season. Six months later, Grove acquired the remaining shareholding, and the team competed as Grove Racing from the 2022 season onwards. The acquisition gave the Groves an established Racing Entitlement Contract and infrastructure from which to build a top-tier Supercars presence.

Former Supercars champion Garth Tander joined the team ahead of the 2022 season, eventually working as a driver advisor from 2023 while also co-driving in endurance events.

Grove Racing's debut Supercars season in 2022 featured David Reynolds and Lee Holdsworth as drivers. Reynolds remained for 2023, partnering rookie Matt Payne, who had graduated through the Grove Junior Team pathway. Payne became the centrepiece of the team's competitive development, showing consistent improvement across his early seasons.

David Reynolds departed at the end of 2023 and was replaced by Richie Stanaway for 2024. Stanaway completed a single season before leaving, with 2023 Super2 Series champion Kai Allen signed as his replacement for 2025.

The 2025 season represented the team's most successful Supercars campaign. Payne and Allen recorded multiple podium finishes across the year, culminating in Grove Racing's maiden Bathurst 1000 victory. Payne, partnered in the endurance classic, became one of the youngest winners in the event's history โ€” a landmark result for a team that had been in the championship for only four seasons.

Ahead of the 2026 season, Grove Racing announced a significant technical restructure. Former Ferrari Formula One engineer Riccardo Corte was recruited as Technical Director and Alistair McVean was promoted to Head of Performance, signalling the team's ambition to compete consistently at the front of the Supercars field. Team Principal David Cauchi, who oversaw the transition from Kelly Grove Racing and guided the team to its first race win and Bathurst 1000 victory, confirmed that 2025 would be his final full-time season in the role.

The team continues to operate its GT program alongside its Supercars campaign, with Stephen and Brenton Grove remaining active in Porsche GT3 competition at events including the Bathurst 12 Hour.
