Roberto Tamburini (born 15 January 1991) is an Italian motorcycle racer who has competed across the Grand Prix motorcycle racing ladder, the Supersport World Championship, the FIM Superstock 1000 Cup, the European Superstock 1000 Championship, and the Superbike World Championship. He is a former CIV Supersport champion who built a lengthy career in international production-based racing.

Tamburini began his career in the junior ranks of Italian national racing before moving into European and world-level competition. He raced in the 125cc class of the Grand Prix Motorcycle World Championship and competed in the European Superstock 600 Championship (finishing 17th in 2009 on a Yamaha YZF-R6) before establishing himself in the Supersport World Championship.

In 2010, he raced full-time in the Supersport class of the Italian national championship (CIV) aboard a Yamaha YZF-R6, winning the CIV Supersport title by four points in a closely contested season. He also made his Supersport World Championship debut that year at the Misano round, qualifying third on the grid and finishing fifth in his first WorldSSP race โ€” a strong debut performance. He returned to the Silverstone round but suffered a crash after being hit by championship challenger Joan Lascorz at the first corner, which catapulted him from his bike and into the fence between Copse and Maggotts. Tamburini sustained a broken collarbone in the incident; Lascorz also suffered a concussion. He returned for the final three rounds, recording three ninth-place finishes to end the season 14th overall with 32 points.

Tamburini committed to the Supersport World Championship full-time in 2011, remaining with the team he had won the Italian CIV title with โ€” Bike Service R.T. โ€” on a Yamaha YZF-R6. He finished the season ninth overall, with his best result being fourth place at Silverstone. For 2012 he joined Team Lorini, switching to a Honda CBR600RR, and finished 12th in the standings with two fourth-place finishes at Imola and Misano.

In 2013 he signed with Suriano Racing Team to ride a Suzuki GSX-R600, but departed the team after the Monza round. He subsequently rejoined Team Lorini on Honda machinery from the Moscow round onwards to complete the season.

After his WorldSSP years, Tamburini moved into the larger-displacement classes. He finished second in the FIM Superstock 1000 Cup in 2015 on a BMW S1000RR, his best international result, and followed that with seventh in 2016 on an Aprilia RSV4. He then competed in the European Superstock 1000 Championship, finishing fourth in 2017 on a Yamaha YZF-R1 and second in 2018 on a BMW S1000RR, once again demonstrating consistent front-running ability.

For the 2022 Superbike World Championship, Tamburini was a late addition to the grid, joining the one-bike Motoxracing Yamaha team. He has also participated in the FIM Endurance World Cup.

Tamburini's career is characterised by consistent competitiveness across multiple series and several different manufacturers, without ever securing a full season of race wins at world level. His CIV Supersport title, his WorldSSP debut podium grid position, and back-to-back runner-up finishes in international Superstock competition mark the high points of a career that ranged from 125cc GPs to WorldSBK.
