Baptista began his single-seater career with a one-off appearance in the Formula 4 Sudamericana in 2014. In 2017, Baptista joined Flying Lizard Motorsports in the GTS class of the Pirelli World Challenge, winning both races at Lime Rock, as well as races at Utah and Circuit of the Americas, finishing fourth in points. That same year, he secured the title in Porsche GT3 Cup Brasil with seven wins and three further podiums.

The following year, 2018, saw Baptista race for Bentley-affiliated K-PAX Racing in both the Pirelli World Challenge and the SprintX GT Championship Series. He took a win at VIR and both races at Watkins Glen in the Pirelli World Challenge, finishing fourth overall. In SprintX, he also won at VIR, again finishing fourth in the season standings. He also participated in the California 8 Hours for the same team.

In 2019, continuing with K-PAX Racing, Baptista raced alongside Maxime Soulet in the Blancpain GT World Challenge America, achieving wins at Circuit of the Americas and VIR, and securing third in the overall standings. In the 2019 24 Hours of Le Mans, Baptista was part of the JMW Motorsport team that initially finished third in the LMGTE Am class, only to be promoted to second place following the disqualification of the race-winning Keating Motorsports Ford.
