Born in England, Vickers developed an interest in motorsports through his father, who competed in the world wheelie competition and achieved a fourth-place finish. Vickers began his own competitive career in motocross at the age of seven. He later transitioned from off-road racing to circuit racing, progressing through the club levels before entering national-level championships.
Vickers entered the national spotlight in 2017 when he debuted in the Pirelli National Superstock 600 Championship, a support category for the British Superbike (BSB) series. During his debut season, he secured a race victory at Brands Hatch and concluded the year eighth in the standings with 101 points.
His 2018 campaign in the Junior Superstock class was a dominant performance. Vickers won 10 out of 12 races to claim the championship title with 250 points, finishing more than 100 points ahead of the runner-up. During this season, he set a new lap record at Cadwell Park while taking his seventh win of the year. His performance led to a one-off appearance in the Supersport World Championship at Donington Park as a replacement rider for Honda, though he did not finish the race.
Vickers moved into the premier British Superbike class in 2019 with the RAF Regular & Reserve Kawasaki team. In his rookie season, he recorded eight top-10 finishes, including a season-best seventh at Cadwell Park, ending the year 16th overall. He remained with the Kawasaki squad for 2020, improving to 15th in the standings with a best race result of fifth at Donington Park. In 2021, his final year with the team, he achieved two fourth-place finishes at Thruxton and rose to 12th in the championship.
Following a single season with FHO Racing BMW in 2022, where he finished 17th in the standings, Vickers joined LAMI OMG Racing Yamaha in 2023. This move marked a turning point as he secured his first career BSB race wins and multiple podium finishes.
The 2024 season was Vickers' most successful in the British series. Competing for OMG GRILLA Yamaha Racing, he took seven race wins and 13 podiums. His campaign included a double win at Navarra and a triple win at Brands Hatch. He frequently started from pole position and ended the season fifth in the overall standings with 349 points.
After a wildcard appearance for TPR Team Pedercini Racing at Autodrom Most in 2022, Vickers secured a full-time seat in the 2025 Superbike World Championship. Replacing Michael Ruben Rinaldi at Motocorsa Racing, he campaigned a Ducati Panigale V4 R.
Vickers scored points in two of his first three races at Phillip Island, finishing 13th and 15th. Over the course of the season, he achieved a personal best finish of seventh place in Hungary, a result that tied with Yari Montella for the best finish by a rookie that year. He concluded the 2025 season 20th in the standings and was the second-highest-ranked rookie of the year.
During the 2025 season at the Estoril round, it was announced that Vickers and Motocorsa Racing would part ways at the end of the year. Following the conclusion of the world championship season, Vickers transitioned into a role as a Honda HRC test rider. He is contracted to return to the British Superbike Championship full-time in 2026, riding for Honda Racing UK.
Vickers' statistical peak in domestic racing occurred during the 2018 and 2024 seasons. In 2018, his win rate in the Junior Superstock class exceeded 83%, while his 2024 BSB campaign saw him secure seven victories, more than doubling his career win total in a single year. In the international arena, his 20th-place finish in the 2025 Superbike World Championship made him the second-best performing rookie of that season.
Vickers' experience outside of the Superbike and Superstock categories includes his early background in motocross and a brief appearance in the Supersport World Championship in 2018. Following his full-time international campaign, he expanded his professional duties to include development work as a test rider for Honda's HRC division.
