Ogawa grew up in a motorsport family and made his single-seater debut in 2010 with R.Houka Racing in Formula Challenge Japan. He competed in the series through 2012, recording a best result of fourth place at Fuji in his final season and finishing eighth in the points standings.
Ogawa joined Bright Motorsport in 2013 for his debut in the Porsche Carrera Cup Japan, immediately making an impact by scoring four wins and five additional podiums to claim his maiden title. He also raced in select rounds of the Japanese Formula 3 National Class that year for Le Beausset Motorsports, taking a class podium at Okayama.
Remaining in Carrera Cup Japan for 2014 with Team KTouch, Ogawa won both races at Fuji and secured his second consecutive series title. He simultaneously graduated to full-time Japanese Formula 3 competition with TOM'S, where he dominated the National Class, winning all but three races and finishing no lower than second in the remainder to claim that title as well.
In 2016, Ogawa moved into the Super Taikyu Series' ST-4 class with Endless Sports and won the title in his first season. He also passed his maiden Super GT rookie test that year at Sportsland SUGO for Lamborghini Team Direction. He contested two further seasons in ST-4 with Endless Sports, finishing runner-up in 2017 and third in 2018.
After a season away from Carrera Cup Japan, Ogawa returned in 2019 with Bingo Racing, winning once at Fuji for a third-place points finish. In 2020, additional wins at Fuji and Motegi placed him fourth in points. The 2021 campaign saw Ogawa win at both Fuji and Suzuka, narrowly missing the title by eight points to Tsubasa Kondo.
The 2022 season proved decisive: Ogawa won six races to claim his third Carrera Cup Japan title by a margin of fifty points over Kondo. He then dominated the 2023 campaign, winning virtually every race he started to secure a fourth title by sixty-one points over Takumi Sato. During 2023, Ogawa also made his Super GT debut, racing for apr in both Fuji rounds in the GT300 class.
In 2024, Ogawa raced in the opening two rounds of GT World Challenge Asia with apr, scoring a Silver class podium at Sepang. He also competed for OTG Motor Sports in the Toyota Gazoo Racing GR86/BRZ Cup and returned to Super Taikyu with Endless Sports in ST-4, scoring two class wins to help the team secure the title.
During 2025, Ogawa continued in GT300 with apr alongside Manabu Orido and Hiroaki Nagai for the endurance rounds, with a best result of sixteenth at Fuji. He again raced for Endless Sports in Super Taikyu's ST-4 class, winning at Autopolis and Fuji to help the team to runner-up in the standings. In 2026, Ogawa moved up to the ST-X class of Super Taikyu alongside his continued apr collaboration.
A methodical and versatile competitor, Ogawa has built one of Japanese club racing's most impressive records through his four Carrera Cup Japan crowns and multiple class titles across Formula 3 and Super Taikyu. His graduation into Super GT and GT World Challenge Asia underscores his ability to adapt across machinery and series at a professional level.
