Andrews began his racing career in the Australian Commodore Cup Series in 2008, competing in the championship until 2011. He then transitioned to single-seaters, racing in the Victorian Formula 1600 Series and testing Formula 3 machinery at the end of that year.

In 2013, Andrews joined JDC MotorSports for the final two rounds of the U.S. F2000 National Championship season, achieving a best result of sixth on debut at Laguna Seca. He continued with JDC Motorsports in early 2014, racing in the U.S. F2000 Winterfest. Andrews secured his first major championship win in 2015, claiming the F1600 Formula F Championship with Exclusive Autosport, winning the title with two races to spare at Pittsburgh International Race Complex.

Andrews made his LMP3 debut in late 2016, joining Wineurasia for the 4 Hours of Fuji. He achieved a best result of fifth at Buriram. In 2017, he raced for KEO Racing in the opening round of the Le Mans Cup, later switching to Graff Racing for the Road to Le Mans. Towards the end of 2018, Andrews joined United Autosports’ LMP3 program, winning the rain-shortened 4 Hours of Spa on his ELMS debut.

Following a season spent in the IMSA Prototype Challenge, Andrews returned to JDC MotorSports alongside Gerry Kraut in IMSA Prototype Challenge. He secured wins at Sebring and Road America to finish fifth in the standings. At the 2020 12 Hours of Sebring, Andrews made his debut in the top class, driving for JDC–Miller MotorSports and finishing fourth.

In 2021, Andrews partnered with Gar Robinson at Riley Motorsports for the endurance rounds of the IMSA SportsCar Championship. They won the 24 Hours of Daytona in LMP3, and further victories at Watkins Glen and Road Atlanta secured the Michelin Endurance Cup title. He also competed in the 2021 Le Mans Cup for United Autosports, achieving maximum points at Barcelona and winning at Monza to finish fifth in points. Andrews and Kraut reunited for the 2023 Le Mans Cup, but finished 19th in the LMP3 standings.

Andrews partnered Gerry Kraut again for a one-off LMP2 entry with JDC–Miller MotorSports at the 2024 IMSA SportsCar Championship round at Road America, achieving a podium finish – second place to Ben Hanley and Ben Keating.

Andrews made his GT3 debut at the 2016 Bathurst 12 Hour, racing for Performance West Motorsport. He returned to GT Racing in 2021, joining Kessel Racing as a guest entry for the 8 Hours of Portimão and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

In 2023, Andrews joined Lone Star Racing to compete in the GS class of the Michelin Pilot Challenge, earning a second-place finish at Indianapolis. He also raced in GT3 machinery with the same team at Indianapolis in the IMSA SportsCar Championship. Andrews returned to Lone Star Racing in 2026 to race in the GTD class of the IMSA SportsCar Championship, also returning to the Bathurst 12 Hour with Geyer Valmont Racing. He achieved a pole position at Petit Le Mans, where he outqualified several GTD Pro cars by three tenths of a second.
