Spencer James Pigot (born September 29, 1993) is an American racing driver, born in Los Angeles and raised in Pasadena, California, and Orlando, where he graduated from Windermere Preparatory School. He later resided in Indianapolis.

Pigot began competitive driving in youth karting before joining the Skip Barber National Championship in 2010, winning the title and a Mazdaspeed scholarship. He was also awarded the Team USA Scholarship to compete in the Formula Ford Festival in England.

In 2011 Pigot entered the U.S. F2000 National Championship โ€” part of the Mazda Road to Indy โ€” driving for Andretti Autosport and finishing second in points with three wins. He continued in F2000 in 2012 with Cape Motorsports with Wayne Taylor Racing, winning the U.S. F2000 Winterfest in the preseason but finishing second in the championship, seven points behind Matthew Brabham despite recording eight wins to Brabham's four.

In 2013 Pigot stepped up to the Pro Mazda Championship with Team Pelfrey, finishing tied third in points with Shelby Blackstock. Blackstock took the tie-breaker for third by virtue of three third-place finishes against Pigot's one; both drivers had one win and three second-place finishes.

For 2014 Pigot switched to Juncos Racing in Pro Mazda, won the first four races of the season, and captured the title in a controversial fight with Scott Hargrove. That championship earned him a scholarship to compete in Indy Lights in 2015.

In 2015 Pigot clinched the Indy Lights championship by sweeping the final two races at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. The title carried a scholarship to compete in the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500 in the IndyCar Series. In November of that year he signed with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing.

Pigot competed at the 2016 season opener โ€” the Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg โ€” and finished 14th. At the Grand Prix of Indianapolis he placed eleventh. In the 2016 Indianapolis 500 he qualified 29th (tenth row) and finished 25th, five laps down and the last car running after running out of fuel during a caution flag.

The following week Ed Carpenter Racing announced Pigot would drive the No. 20 car โ€” normally piloted by Ed Carpenter on ovals โ€” in seven road and street course races for the remainder of 2016. In January 2017 Ed Carpenter Racing confirmed Pigot's return in the same road/street course role. He rejoined Juncos Racing for the 2017 Indianapolis 500. On September 13, 2017, Ed Carpenter Racing announced Pigot would compete full-time in IndyCar for the first time in 2018.

In 2020 Pigot competed on a part-time basis. At the 2020 Indianapolis 500 he spun with five laps remaining out of turn 4 and made significant contact with the wall at the entrance to pit road. He was transferred to Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital but was released by the end of the day.

Alongside his IndyCar activity, Pigot made his WeatherTech SportsCar Championship debut in 2016 driving four races in the No. 55 Mazda prototype entry, including the Rolex 24. He retained the role for 2017, earning his first career IMSA podium โ€” a third place โ€” at the 2017 Six Hours of the Glen.

In November 2017 Pigot was announced as a driver with the newly formed Mazda Team Joest for 2018 endurance races in the WeatherTech Sports Car Championship. In 2020 he substituted for Simon Trummer in a WTSCC race, driving Trummer's LMP2 entry in the Grand Prix of Sebring. In 2021 Pigot joined Riley Motorsports for two races and drove for Jr III Motorsports in one.
