Fredric Aasbø, born in Ski, Norway, is a professional drifter and three-time Formula Drift champion (2015, 2021, 2022). He holds the record for the most wins in series history with 20 victories. Aasbø's path to drifting began after seeing a clip of Katsuhiro Ueo drifting a mountain road in Japan.

Aasbø started racing go-karts as a child, as his father was involved in grassroots rally. He began his drifting career as a privateer, building a basic drift car. He won the Nordic Drifting Championship in 2007 and 2008. This success led to an invitation to a global invitational event in the United States in 2008.

In 2010, Aasbø moved to the USA and competed in his first full Formula Drift season, driving a red Toyota Supra. He earned the series' Rookie of the Year title that year. For the 2011 season, he joined Papadakis Racing. Aasbø became a fan favorite, winning the Fan Favourite award three years in a row.

For several years, including his title-winning season, Aasbø competed in Formula Drift driving a Papadakis Racing Scion/Toyota tC, which used a production Toyota 2AR-FE engine as its base, producing over 900 wheel horsepower. He also competed in events using an 800whp, Supra-engined ICOM 86-X and an RS-R Toyota GT86 powered by a NASCAR-spec Toyota V8.

In 2015, Aasbø won the Formula Drift Pro Championship with four series wins, and also secured the Formula Drift World Champion crown. He finished as championship runner-up in 2017, driving a Toyota Corolla iM. In 2018, he campaigned an all-new car, the 2019 Rockstar Energy Drink / Nexen Tire Toyota Corolla Hatchback, winning the first round of the season. The engine in this car, a turbocharged four-cylinder, was punched out to 2.7-liters and produced 1000 horsepower and 850 pound-feet of torque.

For the 2020 season, Aasbø and Papadakis Racing debuted a Toyota GR Supra. In 2021, he won the Formula Drift championship with one win and five podium finishes across eight rounds. In 2022, Aasbø secured his third Formula Drift championship title at the Irwindale Speedway season finale, driving the Rockstar Energy Toyota GR Supra. He earned the top qualifying spot and needed to finish one competition round ahead of rival Matt Field. Aasbø advanced to the Great 8, securing his third title, joining Chris Forsberg and James Deane as three-time champions. He then went on to win the event, with teammate Ryan Tuerck finishing second, securing a 1-2 finish for Papadakis Racing and third place in the driver's championship for Tuerck. Between Aasbø and Tuerck, the team achieved seven podium results in eight rounds, with Aasbø topping the podium at Round 2 in Atlanta and the Irwindale finale.

Aasbø has worked as a Toyota global ambassador at events worldwide. He also recorded his own mountain touge.
